2308 (Cwmbran) Squadron ATC

Join as a Cadet (with prior experience of the Corp)

If you're currently a Cadet at another Squadron and would like to join our Squadron, in most cases, we can arrange for you to continue your classification examinations with us, as long as you haven't been discharged (see page 52 of your 3822) from your current Squadron.

If you are currently parading with a Squadron in No. 1 Welsh Wing, you may need to obtain prior permission from Wing HQ in order to move Squadron within the Wing.

If you wish to retain a NCO rank when moving to our Squadron, you will be given a probationary period where you will be evaluated to ensure you are suitable for the rank in our Squadron, as all Squadrons are different.

After this period, the CO will decide to; either allow you to retain your rank, demote you to a more suitable rank, or in exceptional situations, remove any rank all together.

If you have previously been a Cadet but were discharged, it is unlikely that your previous Squadron will still hold your Classification records, and therefore it is unlikely that you can continue and you may need to start again.

Also, if you were previously discharged with rank, you may only be able to continue as a Corporal, due to SNCO promotion regulations within No. 1 Welsh Wing.

For more information, get in contact with the Squadron.
