Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood that occurs when abnormal white blood cells are produced by the body, usually in very large numbers. As the Leukaemia cells take over, the patient develops symptoms such as excessive bruising and breathlessness. They may also develop infections that are hard to shake off because the white blood cells are no longer doing their job properly.

Leukaemia is the most common childhood cancer, affecting up to 500 children each year in the UK.

On Wednesday 23rd July 2008 we are holding a sponsored run in aid of the charity Children with Leukaemia at Cwmbran Stadium, from 7pm. The Squadron will recieve half of the total amount raised by Cadets.

Each Cadet has been given a sponsor sheet to ask their Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, Friends or anyone else they can think of, to give what they can to this worthy cause. There will be prizes for everyone and will vary dependant on how much you manage to raise.

For more information, visit the Children with Leukaemia website.
